Antillectual - Start From Scratch

Antillectual’s “start from scratch” is more.
more melodic, more technical, more effort for this bunch of dutchmen that has already proven themselves to be some of the most hardworking punk rock bands on the european scene with their groundbreaking record “Testimony” and their acoustic ep “Pull the plug”.
“Start from scratch” follows the lines of the band’s earlier work: smart and well crafted lyrics are accompanied by a brand of punk rock that shows the band’s interest in crossing the boundaries of music genres, still remaining faithful the the melodic hardcore aestethics and sound.
The main improvement of Antillectual’s sound from their earlier releases is a little more focus on vocal melodies and backing vocals arrangements, partially owed by new bassist Tom (also singer in dutch act Smash The Statues).
This smart, straight forward sounding record is a big “fuck you” to the punk cliches and stereotypes, and shows how much it can be accomplished by a band that has been able to built a network of people, labels, artists and fans all over the world ( notable the guest appearance on the record of Chris from Propagandhi) an who are passionate about their music - through integrity and hard work (and we have to add, lots of talent)
We have a feeling Antillectual will be one of those names to watch out in 2011.
MUST check out if you are a fan of: Propagandhi, Strike Anywhere, Rancid, Rise Against, Atlas Losing Grip and more…
